I’ve been doing
It’s kind of easy, actually?
- This bit is also kinda easy in general
- And then there are some pretty hard parts sprinkled in – dealing with problem people mostly
- I think surviving contact with an outsized quantity of people, or growing too fast is the primary risk/danger
Marketing
- This is also “kind of” easy
- It can be pretty draining and unsustainable
- I liked* doing this in the past for Wildfire Swap
- So, I think I can actually do this for things I care about
- I’m not sure how to do this well, sustainably
- I do think emphasizing the community building version of this, organic word of mouth growth kind of stuff, instead of like “real” marketing will probably be more The Way for me to do this sort of thing
- Curious also about the:
- Make and do cool things, then share those things to build the community sort of vs. traditional “marketing” kind of things
- This style also works well to filter, I think. If we share the things we think are cool as our primary marketing strategy, then only people who also think those things are cool will follow.
