I’m not sure whether I pulled this idea or phrasing from How to Take Smart Notes or from Evergreen notes. Or maybe this is just the form of it that stuck in my head.

But, the idea is that you should place your new notes in context. Start at some entry point note and find a place where this new note belongs. Follow links, read what you’ve wrote and think about what could be related.

Then, once you’ve found a good home and the new note to that spot. This almost always leads me to having some new thoughts as a I see my old thinking and explore it.

It feels like the more I do this the more the effect compounds. So that’s exciting for a few of the “evergreen note” principles:
