I don’t think this is universally true. I’m hyperbolizing.
That said… It isn’t a very good one for most of my cases.
I never want to use a voice interface. I try to avoid it in every case possible.
I think this is a renewed feeling with people talking about it as a useful AI interface. This is what’s gonna replace computers and interfaces? Conversations with a robot? No thanks!
You can find people on AI forums talking about how this is the future. It will make user interfaces obsolete. But even Star Trek has a ton of people on the bridge typing away on screens.
All of the real work we do is taking ambiguous conversations and translating them into actual actions on paper or in code. Doing all of that through voice sounds exhausting.
