This genre is so so tired to me now. I’ve been sick of it for a long while now.

It’s only recently that I’ve played some roguelikes that are actually good again and realized that the genre itself isn’t something I hate…

But anytime I see a new roguelike these days I immediately roll my eyes. I hate so much that this formula is the current trend for every new otherwise interesting systemic indie game.

There’s a trend toward more Balatro style and Vampire Survivors games, and that’s also feeling incredibly tired to me already.

If I never have to see another single overworld node map in my life I will be ecstatic.

I yearn for a simple level based metastructure. That really worked totally fine. We can allow games to end, it will be okay.
