I don’t really understand why people are so insistent on documentation at work… People are always lamenting the lack of it? Always asking “is XYZ documented?”, but like clearly it never is.

I don’t understand… If you want that to change, change the systems around it? But also, I think documentation isn’t maintained, because it just isn’t actually as valuable at work as people think that it is. Or, it can be valuable, but then people ignore the costs to create and maintain it.

Is it really worth it to create good documentation?

Why do people want/expect documentation to be comprehensive? I think over documentation is bad, probably. Just kind of a waste of time.
