There’s an issue when you’re trying to work on creative things and you’re just out of gas. Prompting an AI to try and unblock you can be a lower energy way to jumpstart working on something. I feel like energy conservation is a pretty big concern for doing creative work, especially on side projects.
That said, I do think when you’re trying to work and out of gas taking a break is the “right” answer. Sometimes that’s not an option though. Sometimes after a jumpstart you find more energy and it was nice.
Also, sometimes AIs fail spectacularly when you use them. This can lead to wasting more time and energy and putting you in an even crappier spot.
All in all, I don’t really use LLMs this way very much. It feels like a burning the candle at both ends strategy, which I try to organize my life around avoiding as much as possible.
